Policy Mood in the Economist!

G. Elliott Morris, a former University of Texas at Austin J.J. Pickle Undergraduate Research Fellow and current data journalist, wrote about Americans' public mood in The Economist. Using public policy mood data, he found that Americans are currently more in favor of "big government" policies than any time since 1961. Read the article here!

The Public Policy Mood has been updated through 2018. Downloads in Excel format are available from http://stimson.web.unc.edu/files/2019/06/Mood5218.xlsx. The download includes annual and biennial estimates, loadings and annual standard errors for the annual estimate, and graphics. You can also find the coodbook and dataset here.
