Florida Agendas Presents Research at MPSA!

Dr Cornacchione and Selin Ciltas presented their paper, "Florida Woman: Active, Effective, and Non-Traditional Behavior in the Florida Legislature", at the 2024 annual conference of the Midwest Political Science Conference in Chicago, IL.

Drawing on data from 2019-2023, they found that Democratic women were at a significant disadvantage in passing legislation as compared to the Republican and male colleagues. They also found that democratic women prioritized different policy areas, specifically education; whereas Republican women prioritized health.
