Monkey Cage covers 'incumbency bonus' research

Recent research by the Danish Policy Agendas Research Group on 'incumbency bonus' is featured in the Monkey Cage Blog at the Washington Post: link. Above any other national executive, the election of Trump in the US shows how much media attention executives draw. We use Danish Policy Agendas Data covering 100,000 news items to challenge previous work that such attention helps the incumbent. We argue that this media coverage is more often critical, and hence, no such 'incumbency bonus' exists. Link to our study here
